Hidden Palace and The Cutting Room Floor's Sonic Month 2019 has come to a close!
Together, we've preserved and released several amazing finds: early versions of SonicChaos, Sonic CD, Sonic 2, and Sonic 3! Thank you for supporting Hidden Palace and TCRF! You helped make it happen! Compiling Info
The GameCube version is packed to the BRIM with development code. There's logs, batch files, compiling info, development info, and tons more. There's waaay too much to cover. How could I cover it all? --Lemurboy12 11:01, 10 August 2013 (EDT)
PlayStation 2 + Tubelet easter egg
I've played this most of the time back in my days, and once I tried using the emulated GameCube version, aside from the fact that 2 unused levels are removed completely, can it be mentioned in version differences in the PS2 version that:-The robots laugh (usually different pitches of SpongeBot's laugh) when they taunt.-SpongeBob's Bungee jump noise is different.-The ice noise plays again when the timer runs out.
Edit:Just like the easter egg in the SpongeBob Squarepants Movie game there's one if you set a specific date on the console which will change the flames of the Tubelets.January 1 - New Year's Day (Rainbow colored flames) March 17 - St. Patrick's Day (Green colored flames) April 1 - April Fools' Day (Pink colored flames) July 4 - Independence Day (Red, white, & blue colored flames) October 31 - Halloween (Yellow-orange colored flames)
Xbox version
The Xbox version contains the exact same stuff as the GameCube version. The PS2 version for some reason is missing a few files like the Patrick's Dream level though. Can I put this under Xbox too?— The preceding unsigned comment was added byLemurboy12 (talk) • (contribs)
Something's off about this page so far
I don't know why, but something about this page so far feels... off. Like, it feels kinda sloppy, mixed up, formatted oddly and out of order. How could we make this page feel more professional or improve its quality? — The preceding unsigned comment was added byLemurboy12 (talk) • (contribs)
Early beta footage of sb: bfbb
here's something interesting: i found a compilation of early footage of the game on youtube. here's the differences i noticed:1. at 0:03, you can see a smelly sundae on a sofa in spongebob's house, and the shiny objects are now... purple squares.2. spongebob has a different running animation, and there is a robot in his kitchen. the bubble wand attack he uses on said robot looks really unfinished.3. at 0:13, you can see the inside of squidwards house, an area not visitable in the final game.4. at 1:10, sandy has a different sliding animation from her final. in the final, she uses a board of some sort. in the beta, she simply uses her tail.5. at 2:14, something strange pops up: the industrial park is missing robo-patrick. he has been replaced by steam that rises into a pipe. i don't know why this is, my guess is that the devs were trying to make him some kind of surprise when the game came out, or maybe robo-patrick simply was not finished.6. at 2:47, a very different looking goo lagoon is shown. spongebob falls through the floor of this level, showing that the version being exhibited is a very old version.7. at 3:44, spongebob's bubble bowl is shown to only destroy 1 tiki at a time. in the final, it destroys all of the tikis in its way.8. at 3:48, a placeholder object saying 'shiny object here' is shown.if someone could add the video to the page in an appropriate area, that would be cool, since i'm horrible at formatting, editing, etc. also, if i missed anything, be sure to add it in a reply. — The preceding unsigned comment was added byTytygigas (talk) • (contribs)
gary_begin_text.text
The dialogue, 'Well, hello there SpongeBob!', is listed under Misc. Dialogue. But the file is named, gary_begin_text.text.
In the episode, sleepy time, Gary was able to talk in his dream.
It would make sense that this left over dialogue might be a part of what Gary was originally going to say when you meet him in the dream world (maybe he even looked like the dream gary from the show).
If this makes sense then maybe we should move it under the, Mrs. Puff in Patrick's Dream, section.
p.s. sorry for comma overuse.
Make Chuck robot attack you in Patrick's unused dream level
I found a way to make the Chuck robot in Patrick's unused dream level attack you.
It's the robot that is next to some other robots, but it wont attack you.
I found a way to activate it, and it fly's to right between the island (the floating ice cream things) with the falling cherries, and the island with the falling onions.
It has a nice sized range and makes it difficult to get from one island to another, which shows that the level was actually a challenge.
The Arf robot and the Slick robot also activate, but the Arf has something wrong with it, and the Slick stays in place but will throw oil at you.
I plan to screen capture this, upload it to YouTube, and put the link under the link of lemurboy12's video of the level, by the end of today.
Unused Patrick's dream level plays differently
I just discovered that certain things in the unused Patrick's dream level, show up or do not show up depending on what level's hip and hop files you replaced to load the level.
Example: When i replaced the hip and hop files for the level 'navigate the canyons and mesas', three banana slices link the starting cupcake with that cupcake that lets you jump to the spoon, it also had no golden spatula.
But when i replaced the hip and hop files for the level 'top of the hill', there were only two banana slices, and there was a (non interactive) golden spatula.
Also the starting camera angle and who you control (SpongeBob/Patrick) changes depending on what levels hip and hop files you replace.
I will try to replace most of the levels hip and hop files with the Patrick's dream hip and hop files, to see what happens.
someone should try to insert the hip and hop files of the beta goo lagoon levels and the 3rd SpongeBob robot battle, both of which don't work, but who know if anything changes with other levels hip and hop files replace with the non working level hip and hop files.
p.s. My writing format sucks, sorry.
Playing Unused Patrick's dream level on Xbox
Has any one tried to play the unused Patrick's dream level on Xbox?
Are there any differences between the GameCube version and the Xbox version of the level?
If there are any differences please add them to this section of the discussion page.
P.S. Has any one tried to play the unused Robo-SpongeBob Musclepants phase, or the two early versions of the Goo Lagoon level, on the Xbox?
P.P.S. If so is there any differences between the GameCube version and the Xbox version of the levels?
P.P.P.S. If no one has tried all of these levels on the Xbox version, could someone try to do that?

How to load the unused boss phase in SpongeBob BFBB'SHIT.PLYR'
There's a file in boot.dol which has a... rather strange filename. I didn't think much of it at first, until I found another file called 'SPONGEBOB.PLYR' that seems to be in most of the games levels.
Would anything happen if you replaced 'SPONGEBOB.PLYR' with 'SHIT.PLYR'? They definitely contain different information, the latter seems to be smaller.--ChainChomp (talk) 12:47, 15 August 2015 (EDT) Main Menu Demo Gameplay
Is there anyone who could rip this and upload it to Youtube, for the pre-release page? I'm not sure if there's anything unused in the demo gameplay video as my fat PS2 refuses to load the video and freezes upon reaching it (on both new and used discs). --D3adKn1f3rRKS (talk) 15:30, 16 August 2015 (EDT)

In Goo Lagoon, there's an upside-down umbrella under the switch for the 'Over the Moat' spatula. It's under the water after you feed the clam. Could someone take a look at that?--Micpaws (talk) 17:41, 21 October 2015 (EDT)
Beta elements yet to be accessed
Many believe that with the unlocking of the unused boss, that there is nothing left to find. But there are many things left. 1 being the unused shiny object counter. Another being the beta soccer ball. 3rd is unused animations for spongebobs attacks, and Patrick's belly bump attack was going to be a head flop. And Sandy sliding on her tail and saying take that when she lassos. Idk if those are still in the game. Also the unused shiny object gate, beta goo lagoon fully loaded, squidward with his hat and clarinet. Plus the old underwear and golden spatula meters. Also, one big thing, that nobody addresses, is there is an unused version of the karate boss. I'm not talking about the musclebob boss. But an early model of the kah ra tae boss. For 1 the health meter for the boss is different. And also, the green light on the bosses nose is bigger, and more oval shaped. Plus, instead of the circles on the karate hands, there are these huge <> shaped bars, the expand well beyond the hands. They are still green, but they are more like pointed ovals. Is there any way to access that? — The preceding unsigned comment was added byBfbbsearcher (talk) • (contribs)

Shelf, used?
So, I had a theory. The 'unused shelf' is actually used, but the game deletes things invisible to the camera. It also causes items to get misplaced, like in this GIF. (deleted) --Sp0nge80b (talk) 13:34, 16 April 2016 (EDT)

The 'Alternate Levels' section
I have high doubts that any of the effects caused by 'messing with' the game's files is intended behavior that unlocks 'alternate versions' of levels.
The effects listed seem to be a result of simply changing the parameters utilized by each level's objects, like their starting state, what objects they interact with and are connected to, and as mentioned, enemy spawns.
There are similar things to be said about the 'Anti-Cheating Checks' listed as well. The game remembers the states of objects in each level with bit-flags in an intentional and explicit order. If one were to tamper with the game's files, obviously this order is also tampered with, and objects will be loaded with incorrect states. You can replicate the effects listed by simply opening a level in the level editor and pressing save, since the level editor doesn't save the objects in their original order. Because of this, I don't think the effects are actually a result of anti-cheating checks, just a result of changing the game's files which messes with its memory.
This combined with the fact that these effects were found primarily by one person with no evidence or sources, I'm removing these sections from the article until they're proven to be intended mechanics of the game.
